How mentally healthy is your team?

Eight questions to help you notice how mental health is discussed and supported at work. This is one perspective, not a measure of your whole team.

Rate each statement from your own perspective. If you do not know, choose your best estimate and use the result to guide a wider team conversation.

1. How comfortable are employees discussing mental health concerns with managers or peers?

1 = low comfort · 5 = high comfort

2. How supported do employees feel by leadership when they disclose mental health struggles?

1 = low support · 5 = high support

3. How would you describe the level of stigma around mental health issues in your workplace?

1 = high stigma · 5 = no stigma

4. Would your team know what to do if someone were in crisis (for example, a panic attack or suicidal thoughts)?

1 = no · 5 = yes

5. How aware are employees of available mental health resources (for example, EAP or HR)?

1 = not aware · 5 = fully aware

6. How often does your workplace promote stress management or mental wellbeing?

1 = never · 5 = frequently

7. How confident is your team in recognising early signs of stress, anxiety or depression among colleagues?

1 = not confident · 5 = very confident

8. Does your organisation have clear policies and protocols for responding to mental health concerns?

1 = no · 5 = yes
