Psychosocial Risk & Healthy Work

Look beyond individual resilience to the conditions of work

Workplace mental health is shaped by more than an individual’s ability to cope. Workload, work design, role clarity, leadership behaviour, relationships and team climate can all influence psychological health at work.

This practical workshop helps leaders recognise how psychosocial hazards can emerge through everyday work, identify concerns within their role, strengthen protective conditions and contribute to healthier ways of working. It moves the conversation beyond wellbeing initiatives alone to the way work is organised and led.

What the workshop covers

Practical discussion, workplace examples and guided activities across four connected areas. The workshop supports the Recognise → Change → Embed stages of the TWC Healthy Leadership & Work Framework.

01

Understanding psychosocial risk

Explore what psychosocial hazards are, how they can arise through the design and management of work, and why psychological health matters alongside individual wellbeing.

02

Looking at the conditions of work

Consider workload, role clarity, job demands, control, support, relationships, communication and organisational change as influences on employee experience.

03

Leadership behaviour and team climate

Examine how expectations, communication, trust, voice and team interactions can reduce or compound workplace pressure.

04

Moving from awareness to action

Identify what leaders can influence, when issues need broader organisational attention and how concerns can be raised, reviewed and followed through.
